Defragging does not remove programs. It puts together broken or fragmented files.

Open the start menu, click on run, then type in “cmd” then hit Open. It will open an MS DOS windows in which you will enter “Chkdsk /f”
February 13th, 2010 05:59
is gives me an error message
“Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (C:).
Plese run Chkdsk /f.”
So what is the solution for this?!!?

February 13th, 2010 06:19
no, it just aligns up your harddrive files, allowing a clear, smooth running path

Most people don’t need to defragment the computer because they have a fast computer, but my computer is annoying, tardy when not responding,or having errors.
February 13th, 2010 07:43
another way to get to defrag is just go to my computer and right click and properties to ur local disk… and i have a question.. does it delete anything when u defrag?
February 13th, 2010 08:35

Just defrag. It may take a while, but be patient. From the readers comments below, you can see that it is worth it
February 13th, 2010 10:30
You can. When I go to defrag, it’s usually needed. Remember , most people have never defragged their computer. Analyzing really is not needed at that point. It’s time to just go ahead and get ‘er done.

If I hype the video up to much, people get lost. It may seem boring, but the pace is for a reason; especially for new users.

Busy and having lots of fun.

You are welcome.

Microsoft recommends once a month. It really depends on how much you use your computer and how many files you work with. Once a month is a good standard to start with.
