Create Custom iPhone Ringtones in Windows Vista


Apple does not allow you to use mp3 files stored on your iphone as ringtones. You may download ringtones from itunes for a fee, but here is how to convert your own files as ringtones for free.

    my itunes doesnt give me the option to click convert to AAC?? what do i do?

    i also had this problem i followed all the insructions to that point, but I then went into itunes and select ‘file’ and then select ‘add file to lirary’, select the m4r file and click open this will then appear in ringtones, and do the same with the original file to make it re-appear in the i tunes library, hope it works for u as it did for me.

    Hi I’ve changed the file format to m4r and and sync it from my itunes to my iphone. However under the iphone setting, sounds, ringtone, the song didn’t come out on the list of chooseable ringtones.. How can I make it appear there? Thanks

    I had searched on the web for guides, but always i stucked on where you should change the file to .m4r , and i had NO idea how I was supposed to change it, as vista wasen’t allowing me to, BUT THIS VID HELPED ME!!! 5/5 + FAV ;D

    question… so i have 3 different custom ringtones which i have reformatted all at once… but then when i tried to customize a fourth one with the exact same procedures it doesn’t work! help plz. btw, i’m usin a windows xp–not that it matters rite?

    all was well! until i tried to move the m4r file to my itunes and it wouldnt do it. i followed all of the instructions. what am i doing wrong? =(
