If your first boot priority is the cd drive then the computer is going to check that first. Wont that slow down boot up. i assume that your installing an ssd to improve speed so wouldnt you want it to be as fast as possible

@Jallandhara thats my point, he implied that Vista is better than 7, which I don’t get.

Can you do a video for adding an SSD drive to a PC and dual booting? I want to keep my XP drive but add Win 7 SSD drive. Thanks. I need Win 7 to play the new games!

Sooo I want to upgrade from Vista 64 to Win 7 and have it boot off an SSD, but i dont want to pay full price for Win 7- I’d rather update, which means I need to yank my Vista copy off of my HDD so Win 7 can over-write it for the upgrade right? I don’t need dual OS’s, so how do I do this?

@YousefAB People are allowed to like something they used to, even if something better comes along and they like it also. You just won’t find many people saying they PREFER vista over 7.

Why would you even go to the BIOS to do a one time boot to the CD?
Just do a one time boot menu with that Mobo it would be Esc.
Granted you did need to go there to fix the BIOS for the new SSD.

I know it’s been mentioned before but I want to boost my comments count! :)

TRIM also works in IDE mode as well as AHCI….
