Windows 7 Beta – Unibody Macbook Pro – Gaming

Testing Windows 7 Beta on Unibody Macbook Pro. Left 4 Dead is the gaming example. Unibody Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo 2GB 1066mhz DDR3 Geforce 9600GT 256MB 250GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache Sorry for the crappy audio. I usually use a studio mic, but my other systems are down at the moment, so I used the camera mic. This was a freaking Canon SD800 IS. Update: Upgraded to 4GB of RAM Installed the 64-bit RC version Updated Nvidia drivers Performance is even better than the beta. It still gets warm, but performs very close, if not better than XP (which is unfair since it had 2GB of ram at the time). All in all, very solid. :)

    my macbook pro overheats when running windows seven. to the point of freezing up. i never had that issue running xp. im afraid to run windows 7 on mine. i dont want to cook the cpu. battery life is horrible on windows seven compared to xp too. and of course they are both crap compared to os x. but thats just how it goes.

    There is an Office version for mac available :/ – So, you don’t need to install Windows to use Office on a Mac … Office 2011 for Mac is on the way as well …

    its a core 2 duo which means times the GHz by two. So 2.4GHz becomes 4.8GHz. So batman will play fine x

    @phoenixphilosopher
    If you install Windows, every windows program will work. (it’s just the same as a normal notebook running windows)

    Though if all u want is office, there are other solutions (like crossover) that don’t require installing windows.

    if you have a macbook pro, and you install the OS Windows 7, would that make office 2007 and other windows compatible programs work on the Mac ?

    I’ve got the new Unibody macbook, same specs as your, 4Gb RAM, although the Processor is 2.26. Would you recommend installing Windows 7 or XP? Also, Have you played any other games that require a higher processor speed? (Batman calls for 3.0ghz) If so how does it run? Lastly, What’s the battery life running in Bootcamp?
    Thanks

    actually, it makes an enormous difference even just on 2x. I tend to run 4x if I can get away with it. As long as my frame rates are at least 45fps-60fps, I’m golden.

    by the way antialiasing doesnt do anything unless its on full, otherwise it just makes it lag so you might aswell turn it off, nice laptop though

    you hit the nail on the head with ignorance. Yours is a mushroom cloud, and it’s obvious from your posts. Just keep on talking buddy. It’s hilarious. You need better insults. Macfag isn’t cutting it. Did you know I also have a home built Core i7 system running Windows 7! GASP!!!!!

    @BrodyMMM…..

    Well first of all, I left that comment three months ago.

    And yes, Macs are more for less, but the Mac is still faster. Look at my video “Gateway MT6728 VS PowerBook G4″ and you can see that the PC, with over twice as good of specs, the old Mac won, even though the Mac came with one OS older than what it now runs, and the PC has never been upgraded.

    Well, if we paid as much as you did for a Macbook, it would have the same features. Windows gets a bad rep from the Apple community for bad machines, but those bad machines are $300. You are an ass.
