What do do if computer freezes after installing windows 7?
Ok i just installed windows 7 on my computer. The problem occurs out of nowhere. Basically the computer freezes and the led on mouse goes out. What could be the problem its a clean install of windows 7?

Are you sure the PC is freezing or just your mouse not working?
Could be a multitude of things. Bad USB ports, bad mouse, etc..
Could also be running 7 on a PC that isn’t really up to the task.

when i installed windows 7 it took around an hour for it to start up the first time. i suggest reinstalling it and starting it up and letting it sit and load for a while.

Could be a conflict with your mouse, USB port. You need to make sure all of your devices are Windows 7 compatible.
But like mentioned before, there are other things that could cause this.
A faulty power supply has been known to stop things cold, in their tracks. Loose memory sticks, faulty keyboard.
Try using another mouse, if you have access to one, and see if that helps.
A clean install does not install your old drivers, so you need to reinstall all your programs and drivers, and update them so that they run on Windows 7. But unless you have a mouse that doesn’t run on Windows mouse drivers, your mouse should work. Later, you need to install your particular brand mouse driver.
I once had a keyboard that wouldn’t work when installing Windows XP, because the keyboard was USB powered, and it would not power up during the install, I had to use an adapter to plug the keyboard into a regular keyboard slot.
My son had a computer that would run for a hour or maybe just a few minutes, and then..poof, it would go off. I replaced the power supply and it worked great after that.
