use bootcamp.

If your trying to use the Mac OS on a PC, don’t unless you have supported hardware.

1) Out of personal experience do not upgrade to 7, install fresh. I upgraded a few vista machines and the performance remained the same. I installed fresh on similar hardware, the performance is amazing.

2) Dual booting Windows 7 with MAC on PC hardware is not very simple because apple does not support PC hardware, but you can check http://www.hackintosh.com/ for instructions.

Here are the instructions for performing a multiboot on your laptop: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Install-more-than-one-operating-system-multiboot.
