Howto: Flash BIOS on Acer Aspire One

Gill Poole – £20 I recently had the Black Screen Of Death so I tried to Flash the BIOS and it worked again! Download the BIOS from: www.acerpanam.com 1: Extract the .ZIP 2: Rename the Bios name from 3309.fd to zg5ia32.fd 3: Copy zg5ia32.fd and Flashit.exe to USB flash drive. 4: A: Make sure the power cable is in! B: The laptop is turned OFF! C: Plug the USB stick in! Press and HOLD down the FN and ESC key TOGETHER Then press the power button, Whilst holding the buttons! Release the power button and continue holding FN and ESC for about 5 seconds. Release the buttons and the power light will start to blink. Let the laptop run and DO NOT press anything This can take upto 7 mins When it’s done the laptop will restart. It should now work :D This is for the Acer Aspire One netbook laptop.

Lassen Sie den Laptop laufen und nicht drücken Sie, die alles, was das bis zu 7 Minuten dauern kann, wenn es, den Laptop getan hat neu gestartet wird.     Just go to this address, it worked for me first time. Took about 15 mins all up to do which was ok as my Aspire One has been dead for weeks. I just used an old 1g thumb drive and it was ok. here is the address again.

    hello when i do this is my screen suppose to be black ??? anyways i got this laptop from a friend and the harddrive was broken so i got a new one but when i try to put windows on i get “For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326)

    my power light comes on when I plug in the acer aspire one bios vers. 3305 was the default. how do i turn off the power: A and B: where can i get the default drivers for the XP OS? Much thanx

    I comment would not post right for shytt!! Anyway,to make a long story short: I have re-install XP on AcerOne over 21 times less than a yearthe mouse went out too,it crashed yesterday, would not boot pass XP logo,went to Acer.US for help,and I need to press ALT/F10 to E -recovery to restore to factory. It worked,but no mouse! Went back to Acer.US and DL mouse App,did’nt work! I DL BIOS just for the hell of it. It only only booted halfway, and cut off……

    THE BIOS? Not really knowing what the means,but still I said YES!Lol,and that is what bought me here because it only then half booted up and cut right off! Even pressing ALT with F10(WILL CONTINUE IN A SECOND POST)

    im stuck, how do i do this, i have an acer aspire 5520g and im doing this because some of my usb devices arn’t being recognised in vista for no reason, ive made sure its not the usb device and have installed the drivers multiple times and this still hasn’t sorted my problem. could you tell me if this is the right thing to do and if so how to do it cause im really lost on this

    My Aspireone stuck in the “Windows is starting up” after I did this.. If this is more than 7 minutes, what am I supposed to do?
