How can I do an upgrade from windows 7 home to pro without doing a full install?

My university granted me a windows 7 pro disc. I already have windows 7 home and do not want to go through the whole 3-4 hour installation. Is there a way to do the quick upgrade to pro without the lengthy install?

Meine Universität gewährte mir ein Windows 7 pro Scheibe. Ich habe Windows 7 Start bereits und wollen nicht gehen durch die ganze 3-4 Stunden-Installation. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, die schnelle Aktualisierung auf pro ohne die langwierige Installation tun?

    Yes, but I wouldn’t recommend it. You will end up with problems. There is nothing better then to start with a fresh install, rather then trying to build on top something.

    Do an “Anytime Upgrade.” I think it’s in Control Panel – System that you can find a link for it. You’ll end up entering the serial, and may have to insert the Pro disc, but it should be a relatively painless install.

    And installation shouldn’t take 3-4 hours unless you have on heck of a lot of files to move over when you’re moving from Vista. Going from Home to Pro Windows 7 shouldn’t be a major thing. It just needs to add a couple features.
