Can I upgrade from the Windows 7 evaluation copy to the full version when its released?

I have Windows 7 Evaluation Copy build 7100 currently installed. I upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium to this Windows 7. What I’m asking is that when Windows 7 is officially released on October 22, can I upgrade from this version to the retail version without having to reformat? Meaning I won’t lose everything on my hard drive?

Ich habe Windows 7 Testversion aufbauen 7100 derzeit installiert. Ich habe ein Upgrade von Windows Vista Home Premium auf diese Windows-7. Was ich Frage ist, wenn Windows 7 offiziell am 22. Oktober freigegeben wird, ich ab dieser Version auf die Verkaufsversion zu aktualisieren ohne zu müssen neu formatieren? Also ich nicht verlieren alles auf meiner Festplatte?

    YES!

    You can get Windows7 premium upgrade
    and back up your files(just in case)
    Everything will stay the same. Only for vista OS though.

    Officially you have to fresh install coming from the Release Candidate.

    There is a file you can tweak (cversion.ini) to allow it to in-place upgrade from the RC, but it’s not recommended and it’s unsupported, especially if you upgraded coming from Vista to the RC in the first place.

    You should plan to back up everything you need and fresh install for the final version. If you try to force the in-place upgrade, it might succeed for awhile, but you’re running risk of truly losing everything on your hard drive eventually without opportunity to back up later.

    You can use the upgrade software to upgrade using your Vista product key.

    BUT…

    You’d be better with a fresh installation. If you don’t want to lose the contents of your hard drive buy a new, possibly bigger drive and fit the old drive in an external USB case.

    In my own case I bought a 500GB drive for my laptop together with an external case

    You’re better off doing a clean install.
    Did ya know if you pre-ordered Windows 7, you would probably have it by now? My uncle pre-ordered Windows 7 Ultimate download version and he got his download and product keys on Friday, October 9.
