Asus EEE PC 900 Netbook – Dining Room Table Reviews

LATEST NEWS: The full review of the 900HA, the successor of the 900, can be found at www.youtube.com . ========================================= Review of the Asus EEE PC 900 mini-notebook from my dining room table. The Ubuntu-EEE screenshots you see in the video are actually from the Ubuntu-EEE Live CD. I did install and thoroughly test Ubuntu-EEE for my review, but had already installed Windows 2000 when I realized I had completely forgotten to record any screenshots of the Ubuntu installation. I can be such a n00b sometimes… :) To install Windows 2000, you’ll have to create a new installation disc with the nLite utility available at www.nliteos.com . You’ll need to include the latest Windows 2000 Service Pack and the drivers from the EEE PC 900′s Windows XP driver disc, otherwise the Windows 2000 installation will fail to start. One of the best tweaks you can perform under Windows is to move the swap file from the primary to the secondary solid-state drive. You’ll have more room for your applications, and there will be fewer read accesses to the primary drive. A correction. One of the sample clips was mistakenly credited as “The Next Great Canadian Prime Minister. The title is actually “Canada’s Next Great Prime Minister”, which you can find at www.cbc.ca .

Windows Xp Registry Tweaks – Three Easy Windows Xp Registry Tweaks

The Windows registry is the lifeblood of our system.  It contains information to run all software and hardware.  The registry can be directly correlated with the speed and performance of our computer.  This is why it is a good idea to occasionally execute some Windows XP registry tweaks to keep it performing at a high level.  There is also registry cleaner software available which can automatically perform the tweaks for you.Remove startup programs that are not needed or used.  When we delete or uninstall programs the registry files for those programs remain.  When you start your computer the Windows XP registry will process that information and it will slow the computer down and possibly cause Windows error messages.  Go into your registry and remove those useless entries.Repair corrupt Windows registry files.  You would be shocked by how many errors there are in your Windows registry.  I always recommend going in there and repairing broken paths, application files, and DLL’s.  For non computer experts the best method is to use a Windows XP registry cleaner to do this for you.  Clean up registry files that are useless or redundant.  There are tons of information in our registries that can be cleared out.  These useless files do nothing but cause major congestion in the registry and work to slow your down computer.  Again I recommend Windows XP registry cleaners to remove these files for you.The best way to perform Windows XP registry tweaks is with a registry cleaner.  The registry is very sensitive and if you are not an expert you can cause some serious damage.  Fortunately I have found what I consider the best Windows XP registry cleaner on the market.  You can perform all of these registry tweaks in literally minutes.  Not only will your computer run faster, you can also avoid the Windows blue screen and other corrupt Windows error messages.  Scan your computer for free below.
