UNBOXING: HP Mini 110 (USA) / HP Mini 1100 (Canada) Netbook

Click here tinyurl.com [Affiliate] This is an unboxing and first impressions video of the HP Mini 110 XP Edition, running Windows XP SP3. This netbook is a second-generation unit, following on the heels of the HP Mini 1000 released in 2008. The HP Mini 110 that I’m looking at features a 1.6 Ghz Atom N270 processor, 1 GB of DDR2 RAM (upgradeable to 2 GB), a 160 GB 5400 RPM hard drive, integrated 802.11b/g WiFI, and a 10.1 inch LED Anti-glare (matte) 16:9 aspect-ratio widescreen at 1024 x 576 resolution, driven by an Intel GMA950 graphics processor. There’s a webcam of unknown resolution (likely VGA), and the finish is “Black Swirl”. “White Swirl” and “Pink Swirl” are also available. There is no CD/DVD drive, and the version I’m looking at has a 3 cell battery. Please subscribe, rate, and comment. Thanks!

Q&A: Windows 7 Performance On A HP Mini 1000 (1035NR)

In this video, I get another question regarding Windows 7 on my HP Mini 1000. Coheed, a regular member of our chat room, writes: “I’d like to see you do a followup on your 1050NR Review. Something that shows how Windows 7 is running now, and if you’d choose to go back to Windows XP.” Since I don’t have a lot of heavy software on the HP Mini, I simply demonstrate various multitasking efforts with the browsers I have installed. I open a few tabs in Google Chrome and Firefox and play some videos on Youtube and Hulu. I also launch some Adobe Air applications like Twhirl. The 2GB of memory I installed on the HP Mini really helps with multitasking, but not necessarily with speed. I’m satisfied with Windows 7 as it is since everything I want to do on the HP Mini works. I don’t foresee myself going back to Windows XP until the Windows 7 beta expires in August. I hope this answers your question, Coheed. If you have any questions about the HP Mini or any other topic, send an email to help@bwana.tv. Enjoy!

Q&A: Windows 7 vs Windows XP Home On Netbooks

In this video, I answer a question from phillymaniac14 who wants to know my thoughts on Windows XP performance versus Windows 7 performance on my netbooks. I own an HP Mini 1000 while my wife owns a HP Mini Vivienne Tam edition. Both of these are equipped with 2GB of RAM, but my wife still has Windows XP Home and I have Windows 7 Beta. My tests are hardly scientific but I’ve found that the extra memory definitely helps Windows 7 performance with full screen flash videos. As it stands …
