Full HD Support for ThinkPad T510 and Linux
My friend would like to buy a new Lenovo ThinkPad T510, which I will be a dual boot Linux / Windows. I really like the HD option, but I see that only the Nvidia card with Optimus. I know that the fact that Optimus is not working on Linux (it only takes an integrated card), and I am, but I am afraid of the integrated card can not run the display at full resolution. This is the situation? Has anyone tried running the Linux FHD?
Possibly, although I do not know why Lenovo would offer a T510 (i) a 1080p screen, without being able to lead it to the Intel hardware. I know I can do that Intel’s high-definition 1600 X 900, therefore, should be able to go full HD.
In addition, Optimus, you can always disable the BIOS change to “discrete graphics only” or “Nvidia only” or something like that (if someone could clarify this point, I was able to board was stripped of Optimus). I can tell you that the board is connected to a standard (just use the Nvidia), so it should not be a reason for the board to waive Optimus.
