Question by mike: How do I place a Microsoft Word icon on my desktop?
I deleted the icon last week while cleaning up my desktop. I figured when I needed the program I could just search for it by typing in “Microsoft office word” in the search box under “start.”
However, searching for the program does not work. It finds all of the other office programs on my computer but not Word. Currently I open Word by opening a previously saved word file from the “documents” folder. This is quite annoying, but I can not locate Microsoft Office Word on my computer to create a desktop icon. Any ideas?
I appreciate both of your responses, however they are not very helpful.
First, there should be no need to reinstall the software as it is clearly already on my computer. This is evidenced by the fact that I can still open Microsoft Office Word files. When I click the document files, they open in Word.
Second, I am using Windows Vista. I like it for its search function located under ‘start.’ However, when using it to search, it will find all of the other Microsoft Office programs, except for Word.
I appreciate your suggestions.
